Hi, my name is Steve M. I am a 50 year-old father of two teenage girls. My wife is a teacher. I have been a nurse for nearly 37 years and qualified for over 20 years. I have worked with adults, children and families as well as people with mental health issues, learning disabilities and autism. As well as operating my tour service, I currently assure care standards in hospitals for the NHS. I love being a nurse and value supporting people through times in their lives that they will always remember. Over the years this has been incredibly rewarding. My great passion is to keep you in or near to Dover, which is my speciality although I am also able to offer day trips and excursions to any attractions and sites in Kent or the Southeast of England. I offer a selection of structured tours but can design a day just for you. I also offer transfers from and to the Dover area including visits to chosen attractions. Unfortunately, I can't offer collection or trips to or from central London. Because I only offer a single group and bespoke service, I can entertain any request so don't be afraid to email to ask me. Generations of my direct and extended family have been born, raised and live in Dover. I live in Dover and I love to spend time outside exploring my hometown's history, wildlife, local sites and geography. I love to cycle and walk. I love being outdoors, among nature and being at one with the elements and my surroundings. I am a keen amateur naturalist and love the experience of sharing outside space with the wildlife around me and the travellers that I support. Through-out my life, as a child, adolescent and also as an adult and father, I have always regularly visited our smaller, less well known, sites of beauty and local interest as well as the iconic castles. So, whilst I might honestly say I am not a, 'professional qualified historian or guide' I am still an expert on the areas you'll might want to visit. They are all like old friends and incredibly familiar to me. I love to learn and grow my knowledge whenever I can. I have a great breadth of knowledge about local information and stories, shared by my family and other local people, which I have a passion and love to share. My high level of customer service and communication will ensure that you have the confidence of knowing that you will be looked after from the first moment you contact me, from collection, throughout your day, until the conclusion of your Dover Tour. In addition to the structured Dover Tours that I offer, here are some other sites that you might want to visit. Dover Castle, Spitfire Museums, Battle of Britain Memorials, Roman ruins and excavations, Canterbury Cathedral, Leeds Castle, Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Broadstairs and Folkestone, Hythe and Dymchurch are within easy reach. Further afield are Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, Bodiam Castle and Heaver Castle are all famous local places that you might want to visit. Local Zoos are Port Lympne, Howletts and Wingham Wildlife park. I have no 'registered guide' qualifications and wouldn't profess to be an expert historian on any one sight. I am though, very knowledgeable of all of the attractions that you might want to visit, especially in the Dover area, as well as being incredibly experienced in the roadways throughout southeastern England. I've lived here all my life. I am a fully registered and licensed private hire operator and driver with fully comprehensive insurance cover. I have no restrictions in supporting you with whatever your requests to whichever site. Of course I know more about some areas than others. I don't offer tours to London. I'm not an expert on London.
