I live on the beautiful Kent coast in the south east of England. I would be delighted to welcome you to my corner of the country and show you just how stunning the South East of England is with its gorgeous countryside, magnificent gardens, medieval towns and picturesque villages. I have always felt privileged to live in such a wonderful area that is so rich in places to visit. Since I qualified as a professional tour guide and was awarded the highly respected Blue Badge, it has given me the possibility to share my enthusiasm for the region with guests who come from all over the world. There are so many amazing sites in the counties of Kent and East Sussex that you could spend your whole vacation here. On our tour, we may find ourselves strolling along the narrow streets of a medieval town such as Rye, driving along idyllic country lanes or perhaps stopping off in a picture-postcard village such as Biddenden for a traditional cream tea or pub lunch. You will feel very safe and comfortable riding along in my very own 8-seater Mercedes_Benz V Class. This car with its excellent all-round visibility, panoramic glass roof and easy-access electric rear doors is considered to be one of the best in its class for touring. It also allows us the possibility to visit places that are inaccessible to tour buses and large groups. If you have any historical interests such as the Tudors, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill or World War 2 history, I can also create a customised tour especially for you. If you are a keen gardener, perhaps you would like to visit one of our world-famous gardens such as Great Dixter or Sissinghurst. Wherever we go, my aim is for you to have the most enjoyable day possible while discovering something new about the history, the people and the daily life over here in England. I love sharing a good anecdote or two and will do my best to make sure your day is interesting, entertaining and memorable. The fortified Cinque Port of "Rye Royale" is one of the gems in our region and one of my favourite places. On this tour, we will find ourselves in this wonderful 700-year-old town that has seen it all from invasions to smuggling, flooding and shipwrecks. It is full of fascinating and quirky stories, which I will share with you. We will see the famous Mermaid Inn, whose cellars date from 1156 and which is considered to be one of the oldest public places in the country. If you venture inside, you will see pictures of many famous visitors to the Inn, including actors Johnny Depp, Michael Caine and Judy Dench. Perhaps, you will even spot a ghost or two. Every time I visit Rye, I cannot help but feel like I have stepped back into the past. And of course, we cannot leave Rye without sampling one of our great traditions, a homemade English cream tea, at a charming tearoom. I am sure you will love Rye as much as me and will take home some unforgettable memories from your time spent on this tour.
An excellent tour by Tanya. Her depth of knowledge truly enhanced our visit. She covered from the sites associated with powerful families down to pirates and the Merimaid Inn. She accommodated our slower pace. I would never have gotten this much out of any other offered tour.

Tanya was a great guide. HAd our names on a sign and was waiting for us at the exit of our cruise port in Dover. We spent a 1/2 day touring the countryside and villages including KEnt and the famous Rye. Stopped for tea in a charming tea garden w homemade scones and local cakes. A relaxing day and Tanya is full of tales of local history and lore. Thanks for a lovely day.
- From your chosen location we will drive to Rye via the most scenic route possible. Depending on your wishes, we may make a few photos stops in some of the charming towns and villages that we pass through such as Brooklands, Smallhythe or Tenterden. - After strolling with me through the quaint streets and cobbled lanes of Rye, learning about its fascinating past and enjoying great views over the surrounding marshes and coast, we will stop off at a typical English tearoom to sample a homemade English cream tea. You can also choose to have another hot drink, if tea is not your preferred choice. - We will then continue our tour using an alternative route back to your drop-off location, taking in some of England's loveliest countryside on the way. This tour can be customised according to your wishes.
