I am a professional Blue Badge Tour Guide qualified to guide throughout the whole of London and South East England providing quality private tours customized to what you want to see and do. As a holder of the coveted Blue Badge, I am one of the privileged few permitted to guide within the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, Windsor Castle and many other historic royal palaces. My specialties include London highlights - just right for first timers in the capital, and for those returning to London, the hidden gems. My personal favourites include Tudor Royalty in South East England especially the life and times of King Henry VIII from Hampton Court Palace to Hever Castle; Canterbury and its cathedral, shore excursions from Dover and the glorious gardens of England. It's the region's social history that really excites me - how people lived in earlier times, the land and cityscapes they developed and the contrasts with today's lifestyles. Bringing these to life is a passion and a privilege. I have combined my earlier career experiences with my best-loved interests to present the delights of the region in an entertaining & informative style. Choose from the list to create your bespoke tour. Dover Castle- A royal castle with origins from 43AD used recently in World War II when Sir Winston Churchill oversaw Operation Dynamo in the ancient tunnels beneath. Leeds Castle - home to six medieval English queens & now beautifully restored. Today the castle has lovely grounds to visit. Walmer Castle - much smaller than Dover Castle, this still retains a 'lived in' feel. The Castle and it's gardens were an enduring favourite of the late HRH QueenMother. Canterbury Cathedral - Mother Church & seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury from 597AD, it attracted pilgrims as told in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sandwich- this ancient town has beautifully preserved houses from 14th century onwards- ideal place for an English Cream Tea including of course sandwiches! Rye - A medieval town of cobblestones and lanes inspiring tales ancient smugglers & ghosts
The itinerary is entirely your choice based on the options in the tour description. One of my favourites is a circular tour including Dover Castle and the town of Sandwich. You will be met at the Cruise Terminal and returned there at the end of the tour.
