I would highly recommend booking a tour with Metin. He gave us excellent advice, showed us parts of Istanbul that we didn't think to ask about and was a pleasure to deal with. His enthusiasm comes through and he's very accommodating. If there is something you want to see in place of what is stated in the itinerary, just let him know and Metin is great at adapting the tour. He took us to a delicious lunch place and referred us to a fantastic dinner restaurant. I would definitely book Metin again!
We had a wonderful tour in Istanbul. After visiting Haia Sofia we decided that we could visit the Blue Mosque and the Palace later and instead we went to places we would never have thought of ourselves and tried food we didn't know existed! The guide was good at reading the group (we were 8 people traveling together) and we had great fun!!
A fantastic tour that I would highly recommend, it allowed us to see the best of Istanbul in a limited time frame. Our guide, Metin, was absolutely superb. He was most informative in an easy going conversational style. His enthusiasm and love of the city was very infectious. I wish we could have spent more time in this wonderful city and in his company.
My wife and I did a one-day tour of Istanbul's historic sites with Metin and I have to say this was the highlight of our four-day visit. His knowledge of the history, the culture, and his infectious enthusiasm made our day so much fun and made us fall in love with the city. We visited the Topkapi Palace, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Cisterns, the Grand Bazaar and other stops along the way. -HAGIA SOPHIA (Its 1500 years old structure which is built as a church, than converted in to a mosque and operating as a museum today. Oldest and most famous symbol of Istanbul. It should be in the list of 7 WONDERS OF THE WORLD according to many art historian) - TOPKAPI PALACE (It was a residence for Ottoman Royal Family for 400 years and it is operating as a museum today. Treasury collection is the most impressive part, especially Spoonmakers Diamond with 86 Carat) - BLUE MOSQUE (Classic Ottoman Architecture mosque which is decorated with 21000 hand made blue tiles. One of the landmark of Istanbul) - ANCIENT HIPPODROME (It was a structure where it's organised chariot races and gladiator fights) - BASILICA CISTERN (1500 years old cistern, reservoir for water. Some movies and tv series are filmed here including James Bond (Sean Connery-From Russia with love) and Inferno (Tom Hanks) - GRAND BAZAAR (600 years old bazaar with 4500 shops. It is one of the biggest covered bazaar in the world)
