A journey to the Imperial capital of Spain with private guide
Overview of your Madrid tour
Toledo is located only 70 km / 43 miles south of Madrid. By train it takes only 35 minutes to arrive from the capital so it's perfect for a daytrip out of town. The city was the old capital of Spain untill 1561, when Madrid became the capital. Toledo is World Heritage by UNESCO since 1985 due to its extremly well preserved monuments and old section, fully walled. The city is also known as the city of the Three Cultures because during Middle Ages Muslims, Jewish and Cristians lived together there. Visiting Toledo is a journey into the past where you'll discover a city where time stopped in the 16th century. The city has outstanding monuments like the Alcazar or the Cathedral, The Jewish Quarter, exceptionally well preserved with its two visitable synagogues or The Muslim section, with one of the few mosques built in the 10th century still standing. A walk in Toledo is a must if you're visiting the central part of Spain and the city never ceases to amaze.

Our daytrip to Toledo with Marta was a highlight of our trip to Spain. Imagine touring a UNESCO World Heritage city, steeped in the history of the Middle ages with an archaeologist! She knew history and culture and told us stories that brought all the wonders of this amazing city to life. She knew the best places to visit and what to skip so that our day was perfectly crafted and flawlessly executed—including train rides to and from Madrid. She also took us to a wonderful family owned (for generations) pottery store where we found a keepsake from our trip that we treasure. Marta is an organized, experienced and highly professional guide. She is also a lovely person and we enjoyed spending the day with her.

This was an outstanding day tour and Marta was an excellent guide. Being able to travel from Madrid to Granada with the guide, made it very stress-free, and after learning what my interests were, she tailored the itinerary in a very efficient fashion. Your Madrid tour itinerary
- I'll meet you at Atocha train station at 8:50 - Once in the train station we'll take the 9:15 train to Toledo (35') - We'll take a taxi from the railway station to the city and we'll stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view of the city - Walking tour in Toledo. During our walk we will go across the city discovering its beautiful spots and visiting the highlights: Santa María La Blanca Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter, The Gothic Cathedral, The Alcazar, etc.. . This monuments are just a suggestion, if you have any other preferences or likes I'm flexible, this is a custom made tour for you. - During our walk we will have time for a break for lunch, snacks, drinks and shopping. - Return to Madrid in the 16:25 train and end of the tour at Atocha train station.
