Hello! I am Silvana, a passionate tour guide at your service. Welcome to Romania! Let my young demeanor not fool you - I am a BA in Art History with a master's degree in Museum Studies and a keen interest in social history, responsible tourism, and lifelong learning (among other things). I see myself really privileged to have such a wonderful profession: I get to meet people from all around the world, share quality time & conversations with them, do exciting new things and see the most beautiful places every day. It's not a job, I tell you, it's a dream come true! Why book a tour with me? *Born and raised in Bucharest, I know the city's most surprising details which I am eager to share with you on fun walking tours. *On my private half-day and full-day trips I do my best to provide more than so-called "facts". Instead, I try to offer fresh and nuanced insights into past and present Romania. *I am always up-to-date with all the exciting things around town - on my tours you will get lots of tips about what to see and do while in Bucharest. *Last but not least - all my tours are thoroughly prepared in advance and will be carefully adapted to your specific needs and interests. Got any questions or suggestions? Or want to book a tour? Drop me a line and I will get back to you in no time! Credentials: National Tourism Guide certified by the Romanian Ministry of Tourism BA in Art History and Theory (University of Bucharest) MA in Museum Studies and Critical Theory (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) I do not drive but can accompany you in your vehicle. FYI: Most museums in Bucharest are closed on Mondays & public holidays and some (like the Palace of Parliament and the Ceausescu Mansion) have their own guides for interior visits.

A tour to enjoy one of the top tourist attractions in Romania A great option for your first visit to Romania, this tour takes you to one of the country's nicest mountain resorts and one of my favorite places as a child. I'm talking about the most historically relevant and one of the top 3 tourist attractions in Romania - Sinaia. This tour is a nice slow-paced alternative to other packs that promise you 2-3 castles in one day. I choose to only focus on Sinaia because life is too short to spend it stuck in traffic. Even more so if you're on a holiday! So on this trip, we skip the private car and take the train. The maximum 2.5 hours it takes to arrive in and get back from Sinaia are perfect moments to give some cultural context and answer in detail all your questions. Not to mention admire the splendid views of the Carpathian Mountains. No rush, no traffic jams! Just a whole day to discover Sinaia's intricate history and explore its breathtaking landscapes.
We will visit all the relevant sights such as: * The Peles Castle, the summer residence of King Carol I of Romania * The Pelisor Castle, former residence of the heir of the crown, future King Ferdinand, and the lovely future Queen Mary * The medieval monastery that gave Sinaia its name * The 19th-century Casino - nowadays cultural center - and the park surrounding it We will of course stop for lunch at one of the best restaurants serving authentic traditional food with a contemporary twist. As with all my tours, this one also can easily be adapted for larger groups or your particular needs and interests. Drop me a line and I will get back to you in a jiffy! ** Peles Castle is closed on national holidays, on Mondays all year round, and on Tuesdays in February and March, while Pelisor Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is a public transport and walking tour. We will take the train from and to Bucharest and walk through most of Sinaia. We might occasionally use taxis if needed.
