After simultaneously studying in Bucharest landscape architecture at the prestigious University of Architecture and Urban Planning "Ion Mincu" and tourism at the Specialization School for Tour Guides and Travel Agents "ONT Carpaţi", I traveled the world as a tour leader. The heritage mirrored by the city is an interesting mix of cultures which was inspired by the Romanian aristocracy educated in Paris, the new monarchs from Hohenzollern House and the communist regime. Dan was a terrific and empathetic guide and provided us with a very enjoyable tour of Bucharest. He was very professional and knowledgeable and was able to give us an in depth understanding about the history and culture of Romania during our full da y tour. We had terrific tour with Dan. He was timely, fluent in English, fun and very congenial. We saw all the sights listed in his day tour of Bucharest and wished we had more time. He does other tours and has even guided Rick Steves. It can be a long day with tons of walking partly due to parking regulations and traffic. I’d be sure to stop for a snack and drink at a kiosk someplace. Dan is a good driver and his car was comfortable. We did notice afterwards that the tinted rear windows turned all our photos pink so maybe roll the windows down for photos. We would highly recommend Dan,
Even though we had a day filled with torrential rains and winds, Dan did his best to guide us on a tour to discover the treasures of Bucharest. We are very grateful to him for his passion, knowledge and enthusiasm. We visited the new Parliament, the areas around it to understand the destruction caused by the leader Ceasescu to including a visit to an historic Romanian Orthodox church and monastery saved by rolling it away to its new home. We also visited the old town and some of its treasures including an ancient Orthodox church with nuns singing morning prayer. We then drove around the city to discover the different neighborhoods. And finally we toured the Romanian history museum and treasury with Dan giving us a great history lesson on Romanians past. Would I tour again with Dan? Yes, of course. Would I recommend Dan to others? Yes, of course. GO Dan, GO!
Such a great day. Dan was wonderful, taking us to everything we wanted to see, even our old apartment block where we resided when we lived in city in the 1970s.
