Overview of your Bucharest tour
This tour is one of the most requested tour and recommended to individual tourists who wish to escape for a day from Bucharest, driving through the Carpathian Mountains to the famous Transylvania, accompanied by an experienced tour-guide, in a comfortable car. Along the tour I am going to show you two of the most famous castles in Romania, the Peles Castle, a former royal residence at Sinaia, and the Bran Castle, related to the legend of Count Dracula. A stop to Brasov, which is one of the seven medieval towns (Siebenburgen) founded by Saxons (Germans), will complete our short trip. This tour is also a good opportunity for you to discover the daily life and habits in the countryside, the taste of the local food and wine.
Your Bucharest tour itinerary
- Pick up from your hotel/location in Bucharest at 8 AM - 2h drive to Sinaia Mountain Resort through the Prahova River's Valley in the Carpathian mountains. - Visit the Peles Castle, a former summer royal residence of the Romanian kings since 1883 in German Renaissance style and beautiful Art Nouveau interiors. - Lunch in a restaurant at Bran or Brasov. - Visit the famous Bran Castle, built by inhabitants of Brasov with the support of Teutonic Knights in 1377. Here we will find the legend and the truth about Count Dracula from Transylvania. - Sightseeing tour Brasov mediaeval town (optional, if time), one of the seven towns founded by the Saxons (Germans) in Transylvania at the beginning of the XIII century, with its impressive Black Church in the Council Square and the Schei district, a sample of Romanian culture in the town. - Return to Bucharest in the evening. - This tour could be customized to fit your preferences.
