Do you want to visit a completely different country in just one day and find out the differences between Romania and Bulgaria but also the similarities? This tour is one of the best day trips from Bucharest in my opinion. We will cross one of the biggest and most impressive rivers in Europe, the Danube. We will visit and learn about the pious Basarbovo Monastery, the traditional Bulgarian village of Arbanasi and Veliko Tarnovo, the former capital of the mighty Medieval Bulgarian Empire and now probably the most beautiful Bulgarian city. On request, there are many nice restaurants I can recommend. Even though I am Romanian, I spent many holidays south of the border since a very young age. I also guide there for quite a few years now, so I am sure we will make the most of our trip and enjoy a lot!
Communicating with Dan from the beginning couldn't have been easier. We wanted to modify the trip to our needs and Dan was very accommodating. Dan explanation of the sites and info of Romania and Bulgaria during our trip was insightful. We were able to communicate through text messages while we were left alone to explore to set up pick up times. I highly recommend Dan for any of your tour guide needs.
Dan took us on a daytrip from Bucharest to Bulgaria. It was a fantastic day. He answered all questions we had about the area and was a wealth of knowledge. He speaks excellent English which is great since we managed about 6 Romanian words. We highly recommend Dan for tours in Romania and Bulgaria.
Dan was very professional and friendly. He had also been very helpful before our trip in advising us about COVID requirements. No problem getting over border or back. North Bulgaria made a real change from where we were staying in Bucharest, and was a beautiful area to explore. Thoroughly enjoyed the day.
