This tour allows you to get to know Poland's capital - Warsaw and visit one of its most interesting landmarks - the Royal Castle. You will learn about the city's glorious past, dramatic wartime history of annihilation and rebirth from ruins after the war. We will talk about the history and the present day, famous kings and personalities of today, and see different places of artistic, historic, architectonic and sentimental value. The tour includes a private tour of the Royal Castle, meticolously rebuilt to its prewar splendor, preserving many original artefacts rescued during the war. The tour is not available on Mondays (museum closed), Wednesdays (only individual Castle sightseeing possible) and some holidays when the Royal Castle is closed.
The itinerary of this walking tour includes: 1) Starting point: King Sigismund Column in the Royal Castle Square 2) Old Town: St. John's Cathedral, Old Market Square with the Mermaid's statue, Barbican bastion, Madame Curie's house, monument to the Little Insurgent 3) Private tour of the Royal Castle: historic seat of Polish kings and parliament rebuilt from the scratch (tickets bought speparately) 4) Royal Way: St. Anne's church, Presidential Palace, historic hotels: Europejski and Bristol, monument of Copernicus, trail of F. Chopin with musical benches, Warsaw University 5) Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (depending on the timing it is possible to observe the changing of the guards). The itinerary is flexible and can start from a different place than indicated in the tour description. For any changes please let me know. The tour is not available on Mondays (museum closed), Wednesdays (only individual Castle sightseeing possible) and some holidays when the Royal Castle is closed.
