Lublin Majdanek concentration camp and historical part of the city to get to know its vibrant past and cruel tragedy of the World War 2 I am a licensed guide in Majdanek Konzentrazion Lager, which gives you opportunity to experiences tragic history in very silent and personal way. It is located 2 hours drive from Warsaw and was supposed to be the largest camp. . . but never completed.

We took this custom tour as a side trip from Warsaw. Jewish sites in Warsaw consists of memorial monuments or museums. Marta took us to see two places where the history was not destroyed by the war and history is not a picture in a museum but still exists. She made it come alive by her stories while seeing actual structures and neighborhoods in both a small town and in a medium sized city. We even had time to walk through an outdoor museum to see life in the countryside. She is a safe driver with perfect English, and took us to see Poland outside of Warsaw, helping us widen our knowledge, and allowing us to go back in time with her. She even found a place for me to eat the onion bread that my grandmother used to make.

Marta was fun to be with and she has an exceptional knowledge of Poland. We had a great time with her and she was very accommodating to our grand son. We seldom would give 5 stars but we thought about it here. Rainy weather..not her fault...but having extra umbrellas in her car would have been a nice touch. Also, water could be available in her car...not much cost to her and thoughtful. Fluent in English . Highly recommended
