Hello! My name is Jola. I live in Warsaw and I am fascinated with this place. That's why, some 20 years ago, I decided to study Warsaw history, architecture, culture, etc. to become a fully-qualified city guide. Some time ago, after years spent in international corporations, I gave it up and became a full-time tour guide. I've also engaged, as a volunteer, in documenting architectural details of old tenement houses in Warsaw and regular cleaning works on the historical Jewish cemetery. I love traveling, meeting new people, discovering different cultures and traditions. I am easy going and energetic person, passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with other people. I always try to make my guests feel like they're spending time with a friend. I'm eager to share with you my passion for Warsaw. I'd like to tell you the story of the rich, elegant city which almost disappeared from the Earth during WW2, but then was reborn like the Phoenix , the city formed by the communists in accordance with their ideology, the city that changed completely its face after 1989. I'd like to follow with you the traces of Frederic Chopin, Maria Curie, Icchak Singer, admire beautiful royal residences: Wilanow and Lazienki, and visit the places perfect for taking a deep breath and relax. It's my favorable tour and one of the most popular among 'my' travelers. They appreciate the combination of a deep insight into Warsaw history with relaxation in beautiful green areas. It's quite informative but you won't feel overloaded with facts and names. Instead, you will feel the atmosphere of the city and its uniqueness. If you are in Warsaw for the first time, this tour is perfect for you. You will see the city highlights but also some places popular among the locals. We will walk around the Old Town and Royal Route to see its iconic landmarks and enjoy the atmosphere of small lanes with cozy cafes and beautiful views. We will visit the former Ghetto area - the place inhabited by hundreds of Jews, almost totally exterminated by the Nazis. Changing the spirit, we will take a deep breath in Lazienki Garden - a huge green complex with a beautiful royal residence. At the end of the tour, you will know why Warsaw is among the top destinations and maybe you will even be able to say "cześć" ("hello") ;-)
Jola’s attention to detail and local knowledge is remarkable. During our tour, she pointed out several gems that I had completely overlooked e.g. Marie Curie’s association with Warsaw. She handled the pace of walking very well, took time explaining (and re-explaining) the complex history of the capital, and answered our questions patiently. A wonderful tour that ended all too soon!

My husband and I spent an enjoyable time with Jola! She is very informative and adds many wonderful anecdotes to her tour. Five hours flew by! Warsaw is a very interesting city with a sometimes difficult past but Jola relates this history accurately. We would recommend her for any of her tours.
This is a suggested agenda, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly. - The Old Town (the Royal Castle, gothic cathedral of St. John, Market Square with the Mermaid Monument, Defensive Walls) and Royal Route- historical center and the oldest part of the city - 2h - A coffee break, if you want - 15 min - The Saxon Garden - the oldest public park with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, watched over by a military honor guard - 15 min - The former Jewish district - Ghetto area with Umschlaplatz, from which the Jews were sent to Treblinka death camp and with modern Museum of the History of Polish Jews (outside only) - 45 min - The Vistula riverbank with some modern architecture: the University Library with the Gardens on the Roof and Copernicus Science Center - 30 min - Lazienki - the Palace on the Isle (entrance is the option, paid extra), the Orangery, the Amphitheater and a huge park with peacocks, squirrels, etc. - 45 min - The tour ends at the agreed place.
