Dear Travelers, Welcome to Warsaw - a beautiful and energetic city with a fascinating history. My name is Ewa Bo B. I have been a licensed city guide since 2003, and will help you discover this amazing city. "Fall in Love with Warsaw" has been an official slogan here for years. Me and my colleagues have contributed to the fact that many travelers really did fall in love with this city! Perhaps you will become the next Warsaw admirer with my help? This city is my life and my hobby. Other hobbies of mine are history and architecture. I will tell you thrilling facts about the twisted history of Warsaw, anecdotes from the lives of Frederic Chopin, Marie Curie and other famous people as well as stories from the communist times which I remember very well. The ultimate goal of every tour is to make my clients feel comfortable. Therefore, I will adjust my story to your interests and my pace to your pace. Feel free to tell me your wishes or ask questions. I can be helpful in arranging leisure time for you (concerts, museums, shopping), recommend good restaurants and just make you feel happy in Poland. This tour refers to the most horrendous times in the history of Warsaw During the occupation by the Germans in years 1939-1945 the city was divided into three zones. They locked part of the city behind the 3m high walł and brought into it Jews from all over Warsaw, Mazovia district, Berlin and other places. This 300ha big area was named the ghetto. Living conditions for over 400, 000 Jews enclosed were horrible. In summer 1942 the Germans started the deportation action to the Treblinka extermination camp. Cramped and oppressed, hungered and persecuted, in desperation, the Jews who were still living in the Warsaw ghetto (approx. 50 000 people) stood up against the Germans in April 1943. After one month of heroic fights the Ghetto Uprising was brutally crushed. It was the first uprising in the occupied Europe. Although the area of the former Ghetto has lost most of its pre-war Jewish character, various monuments and important buildings convey the tragic fate of Warsaw's Jews. We will have a walk there
During the tour we will see: - fragment of the original Ghetto wall - Nożyk Synagogue - one and only to survive WWII - Próżna Street - witness of the Ghetto life - Grzybowski Square - venue to Warsaw Singer Festival - Jewish Cementary - Umschlagplatz - assemble square for Jews being transported to Treblinka extermination camp - Miła 18 -Mordechaj Anielewicz Bunker - Monument to the Heroes of the Ghetto - POLIN - the Museum of the History of Polish Jews I can customize the tour, please inquire for a quote.
