Hello! My name is Jola. I live in Warsaw and I am fascinated with this place. That's why, some 20 years ago, I decided to study Warsaw history, architecture, culture, etc. to become a fully-qualified city guide. Some time ago, after years spent in international corporations, I gave it up and became a full-time tour guide. I've also engaged, as a volunteer, in documenting architectural details of old tenement houses in Warsaw and regular cleaning works on the historical Jewish cemetery. I love traveling, meeting new people, discovering different cultures and traditions. I am easy going and energetic person, passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with other people. I always try to make my guests feel like they're spending time with a friend. I'm eager to share with you my passion for Warsaw. I'd like to tell you the story of the rich, elegant city which almost disappeared from the Earth during WW2, but then was reborn like the Phoenix , the city formed by the communists in accordance with their ideology, the city that changed completely its face after 1989. I'd like to follow with you the traces of Frederic Chopin, Maria Curie, Icchak Singer, admire beautiful royal residences: Wilanow and Lazienki, and visit the places perfect for taking a deep breath and relax. Overview of your Warsaw tour
I will take you outside Warsaw, to the countryside, where Frederic Chopin's family settled down, where he was born and baptized, where he found inspirations for his genius music. You will see the old manor house in Zelazowa Wola - the birthplace of Frederic, which now houses the museum dedicated to the great composer. It's surrounded by beautiful historical park, full of flowers and old trees, where you can walk alongside the narrow paths listening to the music, either played from CDs or performed during mini-recitals by most distinguished Polish and foreign pianists. We will visit absolutely unique 14th c. church in nearby Brochow where Chopin's parents got married and Frederic was baptized. During the way back to Warsaw you will see traditional Polish countryside landscapes with wooden houses, stork's nests on the roofs, located inside the forests of Kampinoski National Park.
Your Warsaw tour itinerary
- Driving to Chopin's birthplace in Zelazowa Wola (about 60 km from Warsaw center) - Visiting the Museum, attending the recitals - if available (May-September, every Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 and 3:00 PM) or the Fifteen Minutes of Music series - presentations of talented music school pupils (April-October, every Thursday and Friday at 12:00 and 2:00 PM) - Walking around the historical garden with beautiful small architecture and several Chopin monuments - Coffee break in the park café (optional) - Visiting the church in Brochow, closely connected with the life of the Chopin family - Driving back to Warsaw PLEASE NOTE: this tour is not available on Mondays (The Museum is closed). * I also recommend following Chopin's footsteps in Warsaw and attending the chamber piano concert - see my tour no. 585771 "Chopin's Warsaw Private Tour and Piano Concert".
