Welcome to Warsaw, Best European Travel Destination of 2023! I am Sebastian and I am very pleased to welcome you in my city where I was born and raised. Having travelled the world, lived and worked for 12 years in Paris and Amsterdam, I came back here only to re-discover Warsaw with its unique beauty and character on its own. I became a professional Guide because there is no other place like here with such turbulent history and such dynamic present. It would be my utmost pleasure to show it to you. My favourite parts of the city are its off-the-beaten-track right-bank part called Praga, the Royal Route including the Old Town, communist era monuments as well as numerous parks and palaces. All of these offer a myriad of authentic details of the small architecture, the witnesses of history. I adore the many places where modern buildings are created with respect to the old. In my tours I would like to help you understand the city, feel like a local, not only get you astonished at times but also make you laugh and have fun. I can design a tour following your preferences depending on your interests and the time you have. As my professional career has focused on two fun categories - beer and chocolate - you can expect some guidance also here if needed . I deliver tours in English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and Russian, and also cooperate with official guiding service of The Royal Łazienki Park. So, hop on and discover Warsaw with me! Guide Service Official Tour Guide of Warsaw (license number 865/P-XXXIV/2022) Accredited at official Guide Service of The Royal Lazienki Park Academic Teacher (Kozminski Academy) Driving License and own car (VW Passat 2018) Best available on weekends, Polish bank holidays and during the week after 4 PM (earlier on Fridays). This tour will give you a good overview of top Warsaw attractions and what makes Warsaw an exceptional city. At the same time I will devote more time to WW2 historical events in the locations we will be visiting. Before WWII broke out, Warsaw with its 1. 3 million inhabitants had been a city full of hustle and bustle and was sometimes called "Paris of the North" for its classy elegance. In January 1945, after the German occupiers turned it into a sea of ruins, only 162. 000 inhabitants remained. No other city suffered so much and for so long. Being passionate of WWII and of the beloved city I was born in, I will show you where the first bombs fell in 1939 and how Warsaw defended itself heroically but in vain. You'll see the infamous spots of German nazi terror and learn about the cruel methods the aggressors used to subdue the local population.
After a pick-up at your hotel, we will start with the Old Town to find out where the glorious and tragic events of Warsaw Rising took place as I tell you about the inventiveness of both insurgents and the Germans in finding new military ways for city warfare. After visiting the splendid Łazienki Park we will continue with a visit to the nearby terrifying infamous Gestapo seat and prison at Szucha Alley. ·Next, we'll explore key spots of the former Warsaw ghetto and see archaeological excavations that bring part of the city that disappeared back to life. You'll see the spots connected with Wladyslaw Szpilman shown in "The Pianist", famous Polanski film. ·We'll move to Pilsudski Square to sum up how WWII impacted Warsaw as it is today. We will finish at the Palast of Culture and Science to look at WW2 consequence for Poland - decades of communist and soviet domination Early afternoon we will enjoy nice Polish food for lunch in the City Center.
