Overview of your Auckland tour

I absolutely love this tour! You will experience Auckland's fascinating volcanic landscape, get a taste of Maori history and discover the wonderful West Coast, the home of Maui Dolphins, Seals (Kekenos) and native bird life. An Impression of Auckland you will not find in your travel guide! One of our family's favourite weekend out! Leaving the crowds behind us, we will travel through the Kumeu wine region to the wild West Coast. Enjoy the wonderful nature on a walk through mystic rainforest before reaching the 60 km long black sand beach. Stop for a picnic with an amazing view over the Tasman Sea and if you are lucky you will see playful Maui Dolphins, sunbathing seals and about 3000 Gannets looking after their chicks (August-April).

We left the "City of Sails" for a wonderful descriptive small bus drive to the Wild West Coast. We truly enjoyed the wonderful sea caves at Maori Bay - a bonus as we watched surfers from a high cliff. We watched the juvenile birds (100s of them) attempt their virgin flights off the cliffs away from their parents. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the blow holes, surf and various groups of young people with their surf boards at the beach. Thanks to Gesa who was so articulate, a great job and very informative and easy to travel with her. If you visit Auckland, I highly recommend Gesa as your guide.

Gesa was a great guide. She was waiting for us as we came off the cruise ship. The 2 wineries that she took us to were great. The first tastings were excellent. The second one was excellent too, for not only the wine, but the food and beautiful location was a big plus. The black sand beach was beautiful and the birds were plentiful. What a nice day outside of Auckland.

Road damage from the recent cyclone made our Wild West Coast trip unsafe so Gesa suggested an East coast alternate from Auckland. The scenery was beautiful and we had a wonderful excursion to the Whakakaiwhara Peninsula. I highly recommend Gesa as a guide. She was so knowledgeable and friendly.

After our cruise ship tours were cancelled due to weather in Auckland we wanted to book a last minute private tour to see the area outside the city. We were fortunate to be able to make a booking with Gesa who gave us a fantastic half-day tour to the west coast and also showed us some cultural and historic sights on the way back to our ship. We were fortunate to find Gesa who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area around Auckland. We greatly enjoyed our tour and highly recommend Gesa.

We had a wonderful trip to the Maukatia Takapu gannet colony, located on the west coast, a short drive from Auckland. Gesa was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Strongly recommend her for travelers wanting to explore nature.
