I grew up on a farm, attended a small country school and later went to boarding school in Auckland. Although I've travelled extensively and lived and worked overseas, Auckland has always been home. I love sharing my knowledge of this wonderful region, from its volcanic landscapes and beautiful coastlines to its history, culture, food and favourite local spots. As your private guide, I'll tailor the day to suit you. Perhaps you'd like to explore by vehicle, enjoy a walk, discover somewhere a little off the usual tourist trail, or simply take your time and enjoy the surroundings. We can plan ahead, follow your interests or change direction along the way. There is no need to rush. I've been welcoming international visitors to New Zealand for around 30 years, and I still love what I do. For me, travel is about more than ticking off sights. I'm a firm believer in **Slow Travel, local experiences and the people and stories that make a place memorable.** My aim is for you to feel relaxed, well looked after and to finish the day with wonderful memories of your time here. Whether this is your first visit or you're returning to explore a little more, I'd love to show you Auckland through my eyes. See Tamaki Makaurau Auckland through my eyes. You will see all the popular landmarks and highlights with the bonus of visiting the North Shore and Devonport. View the city from a different perspective with all its natural landmarks, volcanoes, harbours, seas and marinas. Need something special, just ask me! I also know the best places to dine in Auckland so you can enjoy our freshest food and seafood specialties. Have your tried Paua (our own abalone)? Your Auckland's Best offers a little bit of everything and a good dose of 'Kiwi' culture. Lots of stops for photos and walks along the way. Morning tea is a chance to try a flat white coffee and baking. Lunch is at a favourite cafe and enjoy a Hokey Pokey ice cream later in the day. As your own personal guide & friend let me provide you with an intimate introduction to the City of Sails and its beauty. I will show you areas of the city where I have worked and lived and we meet some interesting people along the way
Your Auckland tour itinerary
- Start with a drive along Tamaki Drive to Mission Bay with the original Mission House and Art Deco fountain -Stop at Takaparawhau Bastion Point with its interesting history and great stories -Then we are over the harbour bridge to the North Shore and Devonport. Explore the beaches, volcanoes and seaside village. -Experience the City of Sails first hand at the Viaduct Harbour, Wynyard Quarter and Westhaven Marina -Explore Ponsonby neighbourhood and then -Onto Maungawhau Mt Eden, our highest volcano, option to walk to the top for panoramic views -On through the city to the Domain, the wintergardens and Auckland Museum -Work our way back to the city through Parnell village and arrive at Britomart where we explore and learn the history of Auckland before saying farewell Itinerary may change according to your pick up and drop off location.
