I literally have just come back from a magical day at the West Coast, discovering stunning waterfalls, mystique rainforest and then finding a cave after a short 30 min hilly, but easy walk. After the short climb I was rewarded with stunning views over the Tasman Sea and Lion Rock. This tour will absolutely rejuvenate you while experiencing how the locals live. This morning once again showed me why I love my job and I would love to share this beautiful part of the world with you. Famed for it's natural beauty, Karekare is a star of movies and television. It's a treasured part of Te Wao nui a Tiriwa, the Waitakere ranges. Leaving the crowds behind us, we will leave Auckland on our 50 minute drive to the wild West Coast. Enjoy the wonderful nature on a walk through mystic rainforest, dip your toe in the waterfall "pool" and be fascinated by the beauty and ruggedness of the Wild West Coast.
Our group had a great time on this tour. We got out of the big City and were able to see and experience some of this area. We hiked along the trek of the cliffs of the west coast, as well as areas of the rain forest including beautiful water falls. Gesa, our guide, was great. Highly recommend this as a cruise excursion for the port of Auckland. Cheers!
Our group of five had a wonderful day touring western Auckland with Gesa. We saw Beautiful black sand beaches, Karekare waterfall, a rainforest, and much more. Gesa was a great guide and gave us so much information about the history of Auckland, the biodiversity of the area, the culture, and patiently answered our endless questions.
Gesa is a joy to travel with. Extremely easy to communicate with prior. Wonderfully easy pick up process. Evident she loves showing guests around her adopted country. So interesting to talk to and accommodated my husband’s slight mobility issue all the way. Highly recommend her to anyone traveling through the area!
We booked the tour very spontaneously and Gesa's flexibility enabled us to carry it out. We had a great day and were able to visit the scheduled stops on the tour. We received a lot of background information - also about life in New Zealand. We were also able to add spontaneous stops along the route. All in all, a successful tour with a very competent and likeable tour guide.
Excellent tour! Gesa is delightful and very professional. She was also very sensitive to my somewhat reduced ability to hike steep trails and avoided the more difficult terrain and still managed to get us to some beautiful views on the West Coast. Gesa is one of the best guides we’ve had. Thanks so much!
The four of us booked two separate tours with Gesa and we all agree - she is absolutely the best tour guide ever! While on our trip we wanted to see the countryside beyond Auckland, and Gesa's tours exceeded our expectations. The places she took us to see on both the east and west coasts were so beautiful; thankful for the photos to remember it. As for Gesa - we can't say enough. She is fun, energetic, easygoing, knowledgeable, and just an overall wonderful person. Like we said above, she is the best.
