I grew up in Oaxaca and have lived here most of my life. In between I had the opportunity to study economics and languages. Staying for 4 years outside Mexico gave me a new view from my country and a greater understanding and appreciation of the cultural richness of Mexico. For people who want to experience an off the beaten path of Oaxaca, this will be a unforgettable experience going to an extraordinary cultural heritage in a remote area. This tour takes us to Tiltepec Indian 'Tequitqui' church. Yanhuitlán with it elegant and imposing plateresque church, so to say the most elegant religious construction of the XVI century and Teposcolula magnificent open chapel; 3 jewels of colonial architecture of the XVI century. This tour also takes you through very different natural environment and is the center of the 'Geo-Park of Mixteca Alta' of the UNESCO. *If you are traveling with a party larger than 5, please let me know and a customized tour will be sent to you with the right price.
Your Oaxaca tour itinerary
Departure from Oaxaca city to the northwest of the State to visit the Dominican Road of Churches and convents. The first part of the trip takes one and a half hour to reach the first one in Tiltepec. Then we will go to Yanhuitlan church and and ex-convent. The tour goes further to Teposcolula where we will admire the most impressive Open Chapel and the village which is now what is called a "Pueblo Mágico" ( a special designation for places with a significant value in terms of culture and beauty. From there we will return to Oaxaca city
