Guelaguetza is the word that connects the whole State of Oaxaca to share, celebrate and welcome visitors to our fiestas and celebrations. The Zapotec Community of Teotitlán invites visitors to become part of the celebration by making, living and lighting a spiritual candles that are used for different stages of rituals before and after the fiesta. The ancestral protocols and symbols are reflected on every expression in the local community as it is on stone or on textiles produced with natural fibers and pigments for thousand of years in the valley region, Guelaguetza meaning involves drinks, food, rituals, music, parades and much more for the delight of our visitors.
