My name is Tomas A licensed tour guide by the federal government of the country of Mexico with a background of being a native Zapotec from the state of Oaxaca. I started as a tour guide in 2010 in Bahias de Huatulco, located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico right of the coastline of the Pacific ocean. I have spent the last five years scouting and creating unique experiences in the heart of Huatulco to ensure that your trip will be unforgettable. My experiences promote educational, cultural, rural and sustainable tourism as well as generate economic opportunity for the people of the region in which I work. My outings are not tours in the traditional sense but rather a day with a unique experience on the beach, waterfalls, turtle sanctuary or in the rural community. I offer to my clients an insider's view of Oaxaca, as a native Zapotec from Teotitlan del Valle who is also a certified professional tour guide. I combine my knowledge of history, culture and local communities with a deep respect for my Zapotec heritage and traditions. I bring to my clients closer to the real Oaxaca and I love sharing my personal perspective with them on trips through Bahias de Huatulco and local destinations in the cost line of Oaxaca state and in the central valley. Immerse yourself in Oaxacan culture on this day trip with me as a Zapotec tour guide. Will visit the most important archaeological site in Oaxaca, located in the majestic urban center of the city. Site which is the ancient capital of the Zapotecos and one of the first cities in Mesoamerica. This area was known as the religious, political, and economic center of our ancestors the Zapotec civilization. On this unique trip you learn from first hand how my culture survive and our lenguage. Our traditions and customs are still relate with Monte Alban nowadays. Don't forget to bring your camera to take pictures from the top of the archaeological structures, it will be an educational visit. . . .

This is my second time leveraging Tours By Locals and there is a big difference between an AirBnB tour and a TbL tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and a real local dedicated to his pueblo and community. It's funny how sometimes the best part of the tour is the conversation in the car vs. the actual sites you go to visit.

Pick up from lobby hotel We drive to Monte Alban archaeological site. Our visit to Monte Alban will be walking with a period of approximately two hours, there will be benches under shade of trees yo rest when you'll need. If you are traveling with a party larger than 2, please let me know and a customized tour will be sent to you with the right price.
