Konnichiwa (Hello), I am YUMI!! Thank you for visiting my page. I am a local guide in Kagoshima. I was born and raised in green nature of southern part of Kagoshima. I have been lived, traveled, and worked in several countries. I also graduated from the graduate university in South Korea. After I came back to my hometown, I decided to be an ambassador or a “bridge” between people by introducing my hometown Kagoshima. Kagoshima is full of history, unique culture, cuisines, and nature. Yumi is a wonderful guide who speaks perfect English. She told us about the history of Kagoshima and its culture through intriguing stories and historical events. She arranged a driver for us, who picked us up at the cruise port. We enjoyed the gardens, Samuria history, museums and the beautiful volcano. Our tour was fantastic. We even had time for shopping!
Yumi kindly worked with me to develop a customized tour that took us to the places we most wanted to visit. She was very knowledgeable and conversed with us the entire trip.
Yumi is a gregarious, friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. Whiskey distillery with tasting was awesome! Samarui district very interesting. Yumi added a lovely spontaneous tour of a Shochu distillery with tasting as well, so nice! Highly recommend!!
We had a most enjoyable tour with Yumi. She met us on time at the cruise pier, and took us on the ferry to Sakurajima where we learned about the volcano and it's history. She shared with us lots of interesting information. She is an excellent communicator and a cheerful personality. The four of us thought she was a great tour guide. Yumi, thank you for your 5 star tour. And she provided us a gift at the end of tour including a set of chopsticks for each of us. I highly recommend Yumi as a tour guide with Tours by Locals. 4 of us toured with Yumi as a shore excursion from our ship. Yumi is absolutely wonderful! Her energy and love of her city were evident from the moment we met her. We all felt like we had known her all of our lives. We loved our visit with her and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kagoshima!
We had a great great time in Kagoshima with Miss Yumi as our guide. Adding to the beauty of the sites we visited (Sakurajima volcano and Sengan-en Japanese Garden) are the trivias and stories/history of the sites shared by Miss Yumi in a fun way. She is very nice and friendly that made us feel that we are old friends already. Going to the pottery place is also a bonus which we truly appreciated. I will definitely recommend her to our friends who will be visiting Kagoshima in the future. Super love this tour, Miss Yumi!!! ♥️
