Hi, I'm Eiji. Welcome to Kagoshima!! Born in Tokyo, I left the bustling capital at the age of 23 with just a small backpack. After spending my youth traveling and experiencing the world—visiting more than 25 countries in total—I returned to Japan and lived in several regions, including Yakushima, Izu, Kochi, and the southern subtropical island of Amami Oshima. Now, I live in southern Kyushu as the father of a 7-year-old boy, still carrying a deep sense of wanderlust. Since 2010, I have worked as an English-speaking tour guide in Japan: for three years with a local tour operator, five years as a sea kayak guide in Izu, and nine years as a self-employed guide in Amami. I love sharing time with guests from all over the world. I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, and surfing, and I always love engaging with nature wherever I go while learning the history of each place. Overview of your Kagoshima tour
Located in the southern inland of Kagoshima, Chiran is a peaceful and easy-strolling town, where you can visit the well-preserved Samurai gardens from 1600s and Peace Museum for Kamikaze pilots during WW2. At Chiran Samurai gardens, you can enjoy strolling around a variety of authentic Japanese gardens from Edo period (1600s-1800s) with the seasonal flowers and decorations. At Chiran Peace Museum, you will learn about Kamikaze pilots who flew from Chiran to Okinawa during WW2. The exhibition includes their portraits, testaments, and personal belongings. On the way back to the port or your hotel, we will make a stop at Chabakken hill for its panoramic view of the tea terraces and the symbolic Mt. Kaimon which is also known as "Mt.
