Hello! I'm Mikiko! You can call me Miki! I was born and bred in Kagoshima. Now l'm living with my husband, two sons, and one dog. I have worked as an interpreter and a port agent for cruise ships for about 7 years. Fortunately I had opportunities to work in from very formal international conferences to music and sports events as an interpreter. As a port agent, I often take crew members and passengers to hospitals for medical emergency, so I've learned basic medical English and got a certificate. Still I'm learning such terms for the next level. For local companies, I join business meetings as an interpreter and translate documents for them. In addition, I have worked as a lecturer at an English academy for about five years. As a licensed international guide, I've guided FIT and big group for tours about 8 years now. First, we go to Senganen Japanese garden. There are a museum, a residence of local leaders built in the 19th century and its garden created in the 17th century. We can enjoy the view of the garden and history of Kagoshima there. At a restaurant in the garden, we can enjoy local cuisine for lunch. Most of its ingredients are locally produced. After visiting Senganen, we go to Mt. Sakurajima, an active volcano. We can feel the massive energy of the earth and observe how the local people live with the volcano.
We loved our tour with Mikiko. She took us to the highlights of Kagoshima and provided us with her wealth of knowledge. Mikiko is so personable and friendly. She was also very flexible in adjusting the schedule to best meet our needs. I would not hesitate to your with Mikiko again and highly recommend her!!

We very much enjoyed our tour in Kagoshima! The Senganen Garden was such a delight, and the Ikeda Lake was calm and beautiful! We also visited a local Green Tea Farm, which was very fun and educational, not to mention the wonderful lunch we had at a local restaurant! Our guide Mikiko was friendly, kind, accommodating, and a wealth of knowledge! We do highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful day with Mikiko in Kagoshima. Her English is excellent, the best so far on our trip through Japan, and her planning first rate. She knows the area inside out and has the most pleasant way about her all the time. We really loved every minute of the day including our lunch together in town. We highly recommend Mikiko to anyone traveling in the area or anywhere else she provides her service as a guide. By the end of the day she felt like an old friend, a dear one!
