Hello! I'm Mikiko! You can call me Miki! I was born and bred in Kagoshima. Now l'm living with my husband, two sons, and one dog. I have worked as an interpreter and a port agent for cruise ships for about 7 years. Fortunately I had opportunities to work in from very formal international conferences to music and sports events as an interpreter. As a port agent, I often take crew members and passengers to hospitals for medical emergency, so I've learned basic medical English and got a certificate. Still I'm learning such terms for the next level. For local companies, I join business meetings as an interpreter and translate documents for them. In addition, I have worked as a lecturer at an English academy for about five years. As a licensed international guide, I've guided FIT and big group for tours about 8 years now. I took them various sightseeing spots in Kagoshima. Sometimes for people who want to experience something very local or Japan, I offered such opportunities using various channels I have. Overview of your Kagoshima tour

We meet at your hotel or a bus/tram station near your hotel. Then take a sightseeing bus and go to Museum of Meiji Restoration or "ishinfurusatokan ", where we can learn what Saigo Takamori did and how he was like with exhibition and movie. We take the bus again, watch a statue of Saigo from a bus window, and drop by Saigo's cemeteries. Then, go to Senganen Garden. There are a museum, a house and its garden. We can learn unique history of Kagoshima and enjoy magnificent view of garden and Mt. Sakurajima from there, and feel then people's life in feudal era. Taking a bus again, we back to your hotel or anywhere you want to stop.

We had a wonderful tour with Mikiko. Kagoshima is a city with a really nice vibe, and Mikiko brought it to life even more by connecting its history to the modern city. We first went to the Meiji Restoration museum to hear about the role Kagoshima played in one of Japan's most important periods, and then we saw the Senganen Gardens, which was one of the historical homes of the Shimadzu family that ruled Kagoshima for centuries. Mikiko was a terrific guide and it was an excellent tour.
