I am an Expat from the United States, I have been blessed to live and guide through this beautiful country called Italy for the past 22 years. My first love and city mastered was the Eternal City of Rome, where I have lived and taught an English Master's program at UET. The University of European Tourism is located outside the Papal walls of Vatican City. I enjoyed teaching and being around the students very much, their youth is contagious. As I've traveled around the entire country, I've discovered the beauty in each region, as well as the wine and culinary wonders. My guiding experience is throughout Italy's Regions, as a National Driver Guide. My areas of expertise include the hillside medieval towns that are nestled in-between the Apennine Mountains. During my tours, I explain the history of Italy and make certain that you have the opportunity to experience all of the local monuments, as well as the iconic art and historical culture. My guiding is based on the TRUE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE. The Slow Food Movement, which they call the zero kilometer touring started in Italy because of how the food is prepared and my tours will take you to taste it all, fresh cheese, the award winning wines and truffle pasta. . . not to mention the limoncello in Sorrento after a day in Pompei. I have been blessed with a gift when it comes to guiding children and the disabled throughout this country. Nothing is a challenge for me and I enjoy seeing each of these places with people who thought they would never get there, life is meant to be lived! I look forward to hearing from you and booking our special excursions together. Please know that you have made the right choice to book through ToursByLocals, as we are the best of the best in the industry. Always remember that Travel is the one thing you buy that makes you richer! I have over 25 years of Experience in the touring industry and previously worked for Vacations.com and Expedia Global Brands. I'm not a Vatican certified guide.

We will get on a private wooden water taxi upon arrival and be driven through the Grand Canal and over to the island of Murano for a glass presentation of the historical pieces. Afterwards, we visit Piazza San Marco where I will guide you through the very heart of Venice, as your knowledgeable guide I will point out the city's landmarks, including the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, the Campanile and the many arcade buildings around the square. St. Mark's Basilica - Venice's basilica is a testament to Byzantium's influence on Venice. Included features are gold mosaic arches rising above the carved, Romanesque portal and the rooftop is bedecked with five domes, reminiscent of St. Sophia in today's Istanbul. The basilica's interior features marble floors and walls that blend in exquisite, carpet-like patterns. Gilded mosaic murals, like icons, adorn the walls. Then ride the train back to Rome together.
- This tour includes the famous Doge's Palace - Residence of the Doge and Venice's seat of government the Palace was the example of the Republic's maritime and commercial power. The ornate facade features an arcaded loggia, and your interior tour takes in the famous Golden Staircase, the Great Council Chamber, other historic rooms, and paintings by Tintoretto and Veronese. - Bridge of Sighs - Cross the 17th-century covered stone bridge that is one of Venice's most photographed landmarks. The bridge links the Doge's Palace with the old prison dungeons. - It also includes many hidden gems along the way and some incredible views!
