As an insider of this enchanting city, I think that exploring Rome on foot is the best way to enjoy its colors, flavors and atmosphere. . . Whether you're a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious. On this tour, we will visit the most famous squares and monuments, like the Spanish steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon & Piazza Navona, together with some hidden gems which in my opinion are equally impressive, such as St Ignazio's church, with its amazing trompe l'oeil painted ceiling and St Louis of the French, where it's possible to admire Caravaggio's paintings. This is the essence of Rome - a mesmerizing blend of different historical eras, all converging in one place. My personalized tour is aimed to connect with the soul of Rome in a way only a local would be able to. Follow in the footsteps of ancient Romans, marvelling at the splendour of baroque architecture and uncovering hidden masterpieces of the Renaissance. Water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes are always advised!
- Once we've gathered, we'll begin our tour by visiting Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish steps. - Next, we'll visit one of the most beautiful and famous fountains in the world: Fontana di Trevi. If this tour was booked in the afternoon, we could then proceed to explore the archaeological area below the Trevi Fountain (Vicus Caprarius). - Afterwards, we'll reach Saint Ignatius' Church. - We'll then head to the Pantheon, a UNESCO World Heritage site. - Next, we will stop to delight ourselves with the best coffee and gelato place in Rome in Piazza Sant'Eustachio. - We'll continue on by visiting the church of Saint Louis of the French and appreciate the Caravaggio paintings inside it. - We'll finish our tour in another square, Piazza Navona, where we'll marvel at the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Important: Dress code - all churches in Rome have strict dress code requirements: dresses/shorts must be knee length and shoulders covered, so bringing zipper on attire or scarves are both acceptable.
