Ciao a tutti! My name is Iolanda and I am a licensed tour guide based in Palermo, Sicily. I speak English and French and I have over 25 years of experience working as a tour guide. For long time, I had the pleasure of accompanying travellers throughout Sicily, mainly to the famous archaeological sites. Now, I live and work in Palermo but I am able to move freely to various areas on the island on request. If you wish to visit Palermo or other places in Sicily, please do not hesitate to contact me. Together we can discover some of the city's most extraordinary sights and also my city life. Let yourself be captivated by the charm of Palermo historical quarters, the beauty and elegance of its antique buildings, the mix between Arabic and Norman styles. Come with me and taste the delights and sounds of Palermo's historical markets like the famous Ballarò, Vucciria and il Capo, where you can still hear the echoes of its oriental past. Palermo is heaven for gourmet lovers, who can sample the local specialities such as our famous ''street food''. In fact, Palermo is truly a city of ''street food''; it's a place where the flavours of the Mediterranean mix and embrace with the colours and aromas of the orient. My tours are tailored for individual clients as well as families and groups. You can consider me as your competent and welcoming friend who will provide you with the opportunity to become acquainted with wonderful, mysterious and fascinating Palermo. A city of a thousand faces that remains torn between eastern and western worlds. Sicily awaits you! Licensed tour guide for Palermo and Sicily I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The first thing to do when you arrive in Palermo is to explore its markets, and together we will visit the Capo Market! The tour that I propose combines food and art. In fact, during our walking tour in the market we will also visit some churches that we will find along the way. Of course we will take time to taste the typical street food as arancini, panelle (chick pea frittas), sfincione (sicilian style pizza) fresh ricotta cheese with a glass of fine Sicilian wine. All of this would not be complete of course without a strong Sicilian coffee served with one of our local pastries such our famous cannolo! This tour is not only an opportunity to taste some samples of local gastronomic specialties, but it is also an opportunity to get to know the city of Palermo with its perfumes, colours and the voices of the vendors that make this city a very special place.

Ilolanda was wonderful! She was extremely helpful as we had just arrived in Sicily and were having problems with the ATM machine which she helped us to sort out. Her knowledge of the history of the country was extensive and she tailored the tour to our interests.
Well this was just fantastic. Let's start not with Iolanda, but with the food. In my view Italian food is the best in the world, and Sicilian food is the best in Italy. We ate SO MUCH. Bread bought in a great bakery made into sandwiches with cold meats and cheeses in a local delicatessen (it would not have occurred to me you could do that); red wine (€3 per glass) at 11am (hooray!); the best granita in Palermo, and pastries served in a convent. Iolanda was great, the tour was fantastic. Food also cheap.
Iolanda provide a wonderful tour with great insights, recommendations for later in the day, and a deep appreciation and ability to describe the history of Palermo. Highly recommend
Hiring this tour with Iolanda was one of the best things we did during our trip to Sicily. She is knowledgeable and full of interesting information, showing us Palermo's sites, churches and the Balliro food market. So worth hiring her, highly recommend
So sorry for the delay. Our group of 4 friends had a wonderful time in Palermo! Iolanda was prompt, informative and put her heart into making our visit a success. We enjoyed city highlights and many types of delicious street food, combined with a good dose of local color. Iolanda, please relay a message to the kind lady that made the cannoli for us. We sampled them all throughout Sicily, (including the famous ones) hers were hands down the best!!
• We will meet in front of the Massimo Theatre in Verdi Square. • Together we will visit the the Capo markets and the Old City centre connected by major roads of the city. • We'll appreciate the facades of medieval churches and will cross monumental squares.
