The tour previews to discover the highlights of Siena, whose historical center was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.
The tour starts from the main square, the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race is held on summer time: it is a century-old tradition, preceded by a historical parade in period costumes. The Campo houses the Town Hall, headquarters of the Sienese State since the end of the 1200s. At its left stands the 100-metres civic tower: Torre del Mangia, we'll discover the curious legend hidden behind its name, as well as the square's name is quite unusual.
Then we will walk the main street and we will stop in the most important squares, which bear the name of historical local families and house magnificent noble palaces.

Move on to Santa Croce square and church, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria square from where you can admire the exteriors of Uffizi Museum designed by Vasari for Cosimo I in 1560 which represents a typically 16th century scenographic conception.
