La Spezia Shore Excursion: Pisa, Lucca & Lunch at a Tuscan Winery

Lucca has a special place in my heart. It’s the kind of town that welcomes you with a gentle pace, soft light, and streets that invite you to slow down. Maybe I love it so much because I live not too far away… and every chance I get, I return to soak in its atmosphere. I can spend hours wandering through elegant lanes, browsing little shops, and enjoying good coffee or gelato. And the ancient walls? They’re pure magic. That’s where I often take my children to run, play, and ride their bikes: simple moments wrapped in timeless beauty. I’d love to share all of this with you on a relaxed, easygoing day. We’ll begin with a quick photo stop in Pisa to admire the Leaning Tower, then continue to Lucca for a gentle stroll and a taste of real Tuscan charm. To finish, we’ll head to a family-run winery in Montecarlo di Lucca for a homemade lunch and wine tasting... delicious food, warm hospitality, and no rush at all

From La Spezia Port, we’ll start with a comfortable 60‑minute drive through the Tuscan countryside. Our first stop is Pisa, where I’ll drop you off right at the Campo dei Miracoli, so you can enjoy the Leaning Tower, cathedral, baptistery, and cemetery without the usual long walk. You’ll have about 30/45 minutes to explore and take photos. Next, we’ll continue to Lucca, a charming walled town filled with boutiques, cafés, and some of the best gelato around. Its Renaissance walls are now a peaceful park, perfect for a relaxed stroll or bike ride. Highlights include Piazza dell’Amphiteatro and Palazzo Pfanner. After a short 25‑minute drive, we’ll reach a family run winery in Montecarlo di Lucca for a guided visit and a delicious homemade lunch paired with 6/8 local wines: antipasto, seasonal pasta or rice, dessert, and fruit.
