Florence Food & Culture: Taste the City Like a Local

The history and food of Florence! We could not ask for a more exciting three hours in Florence. Eleonora was a tremendous host to her City. We met over a cup of expresso before venturing out to see this inspiring City. The food market, San Lorenzo Medici Chapel, the Duomo, Plazza Della Signoria were just a few of our stops along the way as we traveled through history. And, of course there was some wonderful food at the market and amazing gelato along the way. Eleonora also provided outstanding recommendations for shops to visit and restaurants to dine in (one included a cellar that offered an opportunity to see the remains of the original Colosseum structure). An amazing experience with a wonderful person.

We spent a terrific (and filling!) afternoon with Eleanora. She’s extremely knowledgeable about food and wine and took us to some real “off the beaten path” spots including trying lampredotto and a very local pasta at the Central Market, enjoying regional wines at a very unique Enoteca, trying sweets at a charming old bakery as well as stops for truffle tasting as well as for Gelato. A very memorable part of our trip to Florence.

Eleonora was wonderful - extremely knowledgeable and engaging with the perfect balance of historical and personal insight into Florence (accompanied by extraordinary food and wine pairings). We cannot recommend Eleanor's tour more highly. Hope to come again. Thank you!

If there were 100 stars to give Eleonora, we would do so. She was the perfect guide for knowing her city and introducing us to the culinary scene that Florence is so widely known for. We learned that she is also a certified sommelier, which makes her even more amazing to have as a guide. I come to Florence each year with new guests, and I will forever use Eleonora from here forward.

I can't imagine a better tour guide - Eleanora is perfection. My wife and I enjoyed a day tour of Florence and were in awe of her knowledge of the history of Florence, various art pieces in the museums we visited and her expertise in wine. She is informative, fun, and ready to please. Her passion is infectious as we now love Florence too and absolutely adore her! I felt like I was saying goodbye to a dear friend at the end of our tour.
