Hello there! I'm Corinna, a Londoner who has been living in Florence for almost twenty years. I graduated at U. C. L. London University in English and Italian Language and Literature and then the Institute of Linguists London before moving to Italy and becoming an authorised Tour Guide of Florence and the Province in 2008 (Membership No: 006/2009). Being married to a local has given me the possibility to know the real city and its people by going off the beaten track to avoid mass tourism; in this way, clients can understand that art and history is also fun and enjoyable! I have worked as a licensed Tour Guide in Florence for several years now and offer a wide variety of classic and alternative tours, along with custom made tours, to meet specific client requirements. A visit to Florence should be an enriching cultural experience to be cherished! - Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Italian Language and Literature - University College London, Institute of Linguists Certificate in Italian, Professional Secretarial Course Newbury College, Sommelier Course - II Certificate, Fismar Verona, - Licensed Tour Guide Certificate, Istituto Dante Alighieri, Florence I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

My half-day private city tour delves into the existence (and otherwise) of human rights in the past, looking at how this city was a beacon for modern politics. I'll begin with a visit to the world famous children's Ospedale degli Innocenti, a symbol of Renaissance architecture begun by Brunelleschi in 1419, on Piazza Santissima Annunziata. This is such an emblematic hospital, in a city devoted to commerce and money, yet also capable of great generosity. Florence was way ahead of its time in conceiving charity, beauty and education combined. I'd like to continue our tour by going towards the world's oldest, still-functioning hospital, Santa Maria Nuova, where Leonardo performed his dissections. We'll then weave our way past the religious centre, including the small Bigallo Museum which used to collect abandoned children, and on towards the ex-prison of the Bargello.
The tour sets out with an inside visit to the world famous children's Ospedale degli Innocenti on Piazza Santissima Annunziata, then heads to the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova. We'll then stroll through the city's religious centre, passing the Bigallo Museum ending near the former prison of the Bargello. This tour can be customised according to client needs and during the tour we'll obviously have the chance to stop for a coffee-break and photographs!
