Hi, my name is Francesco. I would like to welcome you to my warm and welcoming Emilia Romagna. I was born and raised in Ravenna but I have lived in Bologna for many years. I am a tour guide and a tour leader with a regular license and since I am a professional wine taster I have chosen to tell my territory giving great importance to the food and wine aspect. First of all I would say that I feel like a traveler. I have had travel experience on almost every continent. As a traveler, I like to blend in with the local people and learn from them the secrets of the place visited. In every place I visit then, I love to taste the local delicacies. I also give great importance to storytelling. To what and how say something, for this reason I have devoted a lot of time to writing (another interest I have) and, lucky me. . . I have published three travel books, nationwide distributed (Recently tranlsated in English and available on Amazon) So, my idea of traveling and touring is to get to know people with a local perspective, to get to know the historical and gastronomic culture and to know how to tell it. Overview of your Bologna tour
Besides being a licensed Tour Guide I am also a professional wine taster with years of experience in that field and three published books about tours and wine! I designed this tour as a set of activities. After an introductory part about the city and its food and wine wonders, we will stroll through the streets of the historic center of Bologna, enter a historic palace where we will taste 6 wines that represent an interesting regional and Italian expression. Sitting across from each other as in a professional tasting, we will talk about the various areas of wine production, discovering some interesting facts, for example: did you know that there are so many varieties of Lambrusco? And that California Zinfandel is none other than Apulian Primitivo in southern Italy?

-Our meeting point cold be into your hotel or the main square or other agreed place -We will have a stroll talking about our favourite wines and then visiting Quadrilatero, the food district of Bologna. -Crossing the main square we will reach via D'Azeglio for our wine tasting -To follow we will start our tasting: this is an ideal list of wine we will try, from the white to the red: (Pignoletto di Bologna, Prosecco, Prosecco Rosè, Lambrusco, Primitivo, Nebbiolo) -We will end in Via D'Azeglio just near the main square where I can give you some suggestions for your dinner
