Basically everything you need to know about MUMBAI, the city that always excites everyone, and also the city that never sleeps . Mumbai is also the commercial capital on India and also the eastern equivalent of New York and Los Angeles. Mumbai is an emotion. Welcome to the city that cant live w/out Bollywood Chaska. Mumbai, Mumbai you're a wonderful city After all a mother is called - MUM in English BA in Gujarati and AI in Marathi Talking of Beautiful Mumbai. . . . . where even the BEST bus conductor motivates us '' chalo aage badho" meaning please move forward. Mumbai also has one best airports in the world. . the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Mumbai airport is the busiest single runaway airport in the world, broke its own record when it handled 980 arrivals and landings in 24 hours on January 20, 2018. . . . . simply amazing. I live in Bandra West, one of the western suburbs in Mumbai, where there are quaint ancient villages and old seaside charm in this suburb . . . . where time stands still here. The quaint Bandra by -lanes have an old world charm Bandra. . also called the Queen of the Suburbs. . . the burb by the water and the choicest of the western suburbs. Everyone loves Bandra, a cosmopolitan area with hip bars and cafes . . . this suburb gives an extraordinary vibe which makes one feel connected. It is out of this love, that you should absolutely explore Bandra through food. But not the fancy restaurants that have taken Bandra by storm, one should actually go into the by lanes of Bazaar Road, Chapel Road and Pali Village to some of the lovely family eateries, where you can relish some authentic East Indian food. I can take you to experience the local food, or just take a walk down a promenade. . . . and have a peek at "Mannat" mansion. Drive through Pali Hill and marvel at the property rates. I can also take you saree shopping and teach how you to drape the saree. If you want to learn indian cooking, I can arrange for that and also let you sample the food. Bandra . . . . probably the most sought after western suburb, also the suburb by the sea and is also Mumbai's equivalent of south Mumbai in the north. This quaint suburb also houses the highest Catholic population in Mumbai, thus the reason for the largest number of Roman Catholic churches, anywhere in the world are found in Bandra. The suburb was once occupied by the Portuguese. A fusion of old and contemporary Mumbai, this atmospheric tour combines some of the city's most important landmarks. Also discover Mumbai through the stories of some of her defining residents - her patron Goddess, an Uzbek saint, a warrior king and a philanthropist who built a majestic hotel just to teach the British a lesson! But, first, a peek into the world's biggest movie-making factory - Bollywood. Lights, camera… action!
Tour starts in Bandra (aka Queen of the Suburbs), also home to a large number of film stars. Visit a quaint fishing village nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. Proceed towards Lilavati Hospital, where film stars check in when unwell, proceed along the Bandra-Worli Sealink, and exit at Shiv Sagar Estate. Take a look at the Haji Ali Dargah (shrine of a Sufi seer/saint) and proceed to Mahalakshmi temple. Next, visit the world's largest outdoor laundromat, Dhobi Ghat. Drive down Pedder Road and learn about one of the world's richest people, Mukesh Ambani. drive past Mumbaidevi temple, a shrine to the goddess that gave Mumbai its name Take a look at the magnificent Chhatrpati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a railway terminus built by the British. It was also the venue of the 26/7 terror attack in 2008. Tour ends at Gateway of India and, next door, at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, a symbol of Indian nationalism. Will also take you shopping .
