Hi, I'm Priya! I've lived in and loved Mumbai all of my life. I appreciate good food, a good book, animals, music, dancing, and loads of other stuff. I love travelling, and have been around quite a bit. . . seen India from corner-to-corner. I've lived in Sweden for a few months in Spring/Summer 2016 and been to parts of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Egypt, the UAE, Kenya, South Africa, Mauritius, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, The Philippines and China. I've worked as a lifestyle journalist for 25+ years, including an eight-year stint with the Times of India, India's leading English-language daily. I was also the Editor of two parenting magazines for seven years and later headed a successful digital publication dedicated to travel and food, before I pursued my career in freelance writing (which I currently do). But, I still have enough time, energy and enthusiasm to help visitors to Mumbai find their groove. I would love to show you around my city! ABOUT MY TOURS Take one of my tours if you want to feel the REAL flavour of the city or get to a know a particular Mumbai neighbourhood. Think of me as a friend who will take you around her fave places, share a lot of interesting anecdotes and give you the lowdown on local haunts and habits. I can guide you on where to eat, shop, find a clean loo. . . basically everything you need to know to say that you really 'know' Mumbai! * A decade of serving up a slice of the real Mumbai to international guests. * 25+ years as a lifestyle journalist, I know my city and its people even better than the back of my hand. * Having extensively interviewed India's top historians, film actors, business tycoons, designers, chefs, doctors and individuals from many other walks of life, I will give you a unique perspective that few other people can! *As one of the leading writers on food and travel in Mumbai, I will lead you to the best culinary experiences, be it curated fine-dining or popular street eats. I don't do slum tours (on principle) or visits to the Elephanta island and caves (as these are meant to be conducted ONLY by guides certified by the Archaeologicsl Survey of india - ASI).

You can't really say you know a place unless you have eaten there. With almost two decades of experience as a food writer in mainstream media, I know quite a bit about the Mumbai food scene. Let me take you on a culinary tour that gives you a glimpse into the wide variety of Indian dishes (a far cry from the ubiquitous 'tikka' and 'curry' that you've probably tried back home!). I can introduce you to the exotic flavours, spices and recipes, suggest the right places to taste these (where the culinary skills and hygiene levels are high). Whether you want to breakfast like a king, have a lavish lunch, fancy dinner or a shoestring budget snack; whether you're craving something familiar and comforting or something daringly local, come dine with me!
You can pick from the following: LOW-END, HYPER LOCAL Some of the best and most authentic food in the city is at tiny joints that have been around for more than 50 years and aren't always in the tourist guide books! A lot of it is vegetarian and regional, but all of it is exciting. Experience Udipi and Maharashtrian cuisines. MID-RANGE, TRADITIONAL/MODERN INDIAN There are many wonderful restaurants that showcase the best of Indian cuisine. We could pick a specific regional style or choose a place that offers you a glimpse of many in a more modern format. TOP-OF-THE-LINE LUXE While the Michelin guide hasn't come to India, a few chefs with Michelin-starred restaurants have restaurants in Mumbai. A meal at any of these will give you an insight into the chef's brilliance. You could also enjoy high-tea or five-star meals at a number of wonderful venues in luxury hotels or standalone restaurants.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
