Explore Jodhpur your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Jodhpur tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Jodhpur for every interest, including:

History tours: Climb through Mehrangarh Fort as your guide shares battle stories on the ramparts, then walk over to Jaswant Thada to see the marble carvings and learn how royal memorials worked. You can also move from the Clock Tower to Toorji ka Jhalra stepwell, stopping at an old haveli to see how merchant families lived.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Start with a guided walk in Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park to learn how native desert plants survive and to spot birds like Indian robin and peafowl among rocky trails. Later, ride a jeep to Bishnoi villages near Khejarli to look for blackbuck and chinkara in the scrub and pause at a khejri grove for chai.

Art and Culture tours: Try block-printing or bandhani with an artisan in a small workshop, then visit Salawas to watch dhurrie weavers at their pit looms and learn how colours are fixed. In the old city, browse Sardar Market’s spice stalls by the Clock Tower, sample a mirchi vada or mawa kachori, and chat with a brass-worker in the Navchokiya lanes.

The lanes around the Clock Tower and the base of Mehrangarh Fort are walkable, and auto-rickshaws handle short rides; there’s no metro and buses aren’t practical for most visitors. For spread-out sites like Bishnoi villages or Salawas, you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide to arrange private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Jodhpur inside and out.

Osian, about an hour away, blends ornate Jain and Hindu temples with a calm desert edge, so if carvings, sunset light, and a short camel ride sound right, this mix gives you history and open-sky views in one outing.

Bishnoi villages just outside the city connect you with artisans and wildlife, where you may see blackbuck, learn about pottery and weaving, and visit block printing workshops, a good fit if craft, conservation, and everyday life are on your list.

Mandore, the old capital north of Jodhpur, offers cenotaphs, rock-cut shrines, and shaded paths, easy to pair with street snacks and casual photos, and it suits you if you want culture without a long drive.

Ranakpur’s marble Jain temple rewards you with cool interiors and endless pillars, and you can pair it with Kumbhalgarh Fort for ramparts, hill views, and a deep dive into Rajput power, a full day that balances architecture, landscape, and clear stories from your guide.
