Amritsar Private Tour

We had a great time touring Amritsar with Balwinder. We learned a great deal about Sikhism and the Golden Temple and had a really special experience at the border crossing ceremony. I wasn't certain what to expect from Amritsar but it was absolutely a highlight of my sons and my trip to India and Balwinder was an important part of the experience.

Balwinder was a fantastic tour guide and he and the driver were attentive at all times. Although we had a preplanned itinerary as we were on a tour before the day, we had unexpectedly already seen some of the places. This meant that the planned day tour went a little out of the window and Balwinder thought very quickly and took us to places not on the original list. This allowed us to experience and explore some beautiful places which we would never had seen. In particular he took us to a small farming community to see and speak to locals. Fantastic tour and tour guide … what more can I say!

Excellent tour. Not only did we see the specific highlights listed, but Balwinder provided the necessary background and perspective from someone who grew up in the local area. The trip to the Golden Temple was especially well done.

A wonderful day of exploration — Balwinder is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about his city, flexible, and so generous in conversation re: broader questions around life in India. He introduced us to several personally significant sites on the Golden Temple grounds (we'll never forget our insider view of the Guru ka Langar) as well as Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum; He and our deft (!) driver navigated both the city and the bustling Wagah-Attari border perfectly. Perfect tour!

He was attentive to our preferences and ensured our trip to the Golden Temple was complete with a daytime and nighttime vist, and a wonderful explanation of the history and rituals. He guided us very well to the border ceremony and gave us a few city highlights that interested us. We highly recommend Balwinder as a local tour guide.
