The Northern Lights, Lake Mývatn and Goðafoss Waterfall

Iceland winter wonderland. Traveling in the north in the middle of winter is an amazing experience. Half-frozen waterfalls and the contrast between the black lava fields and the snow make everything peaceful and magical. Discover the magnificent Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls and one of the most popular destinations for travelers in Iceland for decades. Lake Mývatn and its diverse landscape, pseudo-craters like the moon, dramatic lava fields, boiling geothermal mud pools, unique vegetation, and bird life are great places to visit. After dinner at a local restaurant we relax in the geothermal Myvatn Naturebaths hopefully looking at the stars and admiring the northern lights as they dance across the sky. On the drive back to Akureyri we go northern lights hunting.
