Hello! I’m a lifelong Icelander with a deep love for this land and a passion for sharing it with curious travellers. I currently live in Akureyri in North Iceland, but over the years I’ve lived in many parts of the country — from remote fishing villages to the lively capital — and that variety gives me a unique perspective I love bringing into my tours. My guests often tell me that my tours feel more like travelling with a local friend than a formal guide. I believe travel should be personal, memorable, and filled with moments you won’t find in a brochure — and that’s exactly what I aim to offer. When I’m not guiding, I’m out exploring, researching new stops, and refining my routes — so even returning guests discover something new. Whether you're visiting for the first time or coming back for more, I’d be honoured to help you experience Iceland in a way that’s meaningful, flexible, and fun. If you’re looking for a private tour with a knowledgeable local who’s genuinely passionate about what they do — I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make your Iceland trip unforgettable. - Licensed Professional driver. - First aid course and additional refresher courses at regular intervals - Fully licensed vehicle by the Icelandic Transport Authority. - Fully licensed Day tour provider by the Icelandic Tourist Board. - Fully licensed Iceland tour guide badge number 1159. - Thirteen years of experience in guiding

There are waterfalls, and then there is Dettifoss — a force of nature so powerful, it feels as though the land itself is exhaling. I've been visiting this place since childhood, and its raw power still moves me every time. Our journey begins in Akureyri and takes us eastward, with a stop at the elegant Goðafoss — a beautiful prelude to the drama ahead. We’ll pass through the volcanic landscapes of Lake Mývatn, where otherworldly textures begin to unfold, before continuing into the stark wilderness that surrounds Dettifoss. Here, at the edge of the Icelandic Highlands, the earth opens into a vast canyon and the river crashes below with unmatched force. It’s a place that feels more like another planet than anything you’ve seen on this one — and yet, deeply grounded in the soul of Iceland. This is a day for those drawn to untamed beauty, quiet awe, and landscapes that leave a lasting imprint.
We begin in Akureyri and head east, stopping first at Goðafoss, the elegant “Waterfall of the Gods.” From there, we travel through the Lake Mývatn region, with a few scenic photo stops along the way. The landscape grows more remote as we drive into the wild expanse leading to Dettifoss — Europe’s most powerful waterfall, where the glacial river plunges into a vast canyon in a display of sheer elemental force. The surrounding area feels unearthly — raw, rugged, and deeply moving. After time to take it all in, we return to Akureyri, reflecting on a day shaped by water, wilderness, and wonder.
