It's been my pleasure & privilege to travel & live all over the world (teaching in Asia for 4 yrs, dog-mushing in Alaska). Or maybe you prefer; - to visit one of Europes most sumptuous and diverse gardens in Schwetzingen - to take a leisurely cycle tour away from the crowds through the green and serene local countryside. - or venture a bit further afield to the legendary Black Forest or explore the delights of Alsace, France, just one hour away. - have a wine tour in the German wine regions of The Pfalz, Hessische Bergstrasse, Baden or the amazing 180 km long 'Route du Vin' in Alsace, France. - or visit a top sporting occasion; Bundesliga Football at local Hoffenheim or ice-hockey at the Mannheim Eagles. On this Tour we drive into the heart of Germany's most famous and important wine region - The Pfalz. The scenic "Weinstrasse" (wine road) is an 80km long road, starting on the French border, that disects the beautiful vineyards of this region. Our main destination will be the charming old village of Deiesheim. Here the main Street is full of traditional 'Weingute"(wineries)where one can soak up the long history of wine-making and of course try the excellent wines. The Reislings from this area are particularly highly valued and considered among the very best in the world. But Each vineyard has a wide assortment of wines, both red & white, so that every palate and personal preference will be satisfied. There's also a good collection of restaurants in the village where one can enjoy some of the fine local cuisine 'al fresco' in an atmospheric courtyard of a wine estate. Or cosy cafes offering regional dishes. Come along for a memorable and fun day out.
Henry provided a personal tour for me, given I was staying in the area over the weekend while on business travel. Henry did a professional job taking me to the Pfalz, allowing me to enjoy the day. We visited 4 wineries in the area, walked into the vineyards around Deidesheim and had lunch. He speaks fluent English and German, and provided translation through out the day. I would highly recommend Henry for any of his tours!!
Drive to the Pfalz Wine Region - 45 mins from Heidelberg. Visit at least 2 wineries in the beautiful village of Deidesheim. Including the world renowned Basserman-Jordan & Dr. Deidesheim wineries. A short walk in the scenic vineyards. (Optional) Lunch in Deidesheim. Visit at least 2 more wineries. Visit a local beauty spot with panoramic views of the wine fields and the Rhine valley. (Optional) Drive back to Heidelberg.

Transport will be in my new, deluxe, VW MultiVan which comfortably seats 6 adult passengers. The car has air-conditioning and a glass roof. A bigger car for up to 8 passengers can be hired on request.
