Bicycle tour to the ancient Roman town of Ladenburg.

Our tour will begin in the centre of Heidelberg where we will pick up the bicycles. We will then leisurely cycle along the banks of the River Neckar and through the mode through the famously fertile Neuenheimer Fields(observe the amazing fruit and vegetables) before rejoining the River. We then continue along the River, perhaps seeing a stork or two, until we arrive at the deeply peaceful town of Ladenburg. Ladenburg is one of the oldest towns in Germany. Once it was an important Roman settlement, leaving it with an interesting selection of well preserved ruins. The market square, with it's 500 year old timber frame houses, is a good stop for refreshments. For the athletic we continue on another 10 km to the pretty town of Weinheim where another interesting old town and a wonderful Corsican restaurant awaits us. Half day or full day tours possible. All the cycling is on specially designated cycle paths and the cycling in the countryside is on rural cycle paths with no car traffic = maximum peace.
