My name is Vincent an official tour guide/lecturer in Paris and France. I am a licensed tour guide in France and I have been working since 1989. It was the year when Paris celebrated the centenary of the Eiffel Tower as well as the bicentennial of the French Revolution. My knowledge in art history and History grew over the years and I like to share it with visitors. A full day tour of the Somme battlefields where you'll be fascinated by the history o French and British military. The tour duration is approximately 11 hours which includes hotel pick up and drop-off. We'll walk on the sites which has a significant story of the bloodiest battles fought during World War I. We'll also visit several war memorials and Péronne Historial, Museum of the Great War. Visit Deville Wood cemetery in Longeuval which served as the final resting place of more than WWI fallen soldiers. There is a gigantic Lochnagar mine crater in La Boisselle which is approximately 100 meters long. Various memorials are observed throughout the area including a site made for the missing British soldiers in Ulster Tower, Thiepval and Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial. You'll see the tributes for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during the Battle of Somme such as Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux. The Australian flag is held high and evident across Poziere.
Vincent is a very experienced, conscientious, and knowledgeable guide. I had asked to go to a couple of little-visited places, such as the American Cemetery, and he was able to give us a thorough tour with excellent explanations.

The tour was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the Somme. Made it really easy to see from Paris. Very accommodating for options for the tour including a quick side visit to a monument to the first use of tanks during the war which took place at the battle of the Somme. Highly recommend.
My family and I deeply enjoyed our time with Vincent on this tour. Vincent is extremely knowledgeable about WW1 and helped us learn about and experience this lesser-known "war to end all wars" in a full and highly immersive way. Throughout the day, we explained the process of the war, and how it became connected to the next "great" war--WW2. We moved from inspiring monuments to soldiers' cemeteries to informative museums to battlefields---and took a needed break at a lovely champagne house (arranged on the spot by Vincent). Do not hesitate to book this tour. I would take it again, right now.
Vincent is an excellent guide, especially for WWI tours. He thoroughly knows the history and knew where to take us for the most interesting and educational sites. His English is excellent. He pronounces all words correctly with one exception, and I say this just to emphasize how good his English is: he said the silent "ps" in "corps" as in Marine Corps or 3rd Corps. It is of course pronounced "core."
Another 5 star experience with Vincent and his tour of the Somme battlefields. This was our 2nd trip for the week and it was like hanging out with an old friend. Vincent went above and beyond to make sure my father and I got a full experience of the magnitude of the fighting and sacrifice made in the Somme area during WW 1.
