While you are in Paris you must absolutely visit Orsay museum that own the biggest collection of impressionist paintings in the world! Because yes Orsay it's the museum where you will understand best the birth of a movement that will change art forever and getting into modern art. You will also fall in love with Orsay with the building itself. Housed in an old railway station built for the 1900 world fair the museum was then created in the 80's few years after the demolition of the building was planed. And did you knew that you can also see art nouveau fournitures there? From different countries in Europe. It's one of the richest movement in design, where every object had to be handmade. Also you will be charmed by the little Rodin collection too.
-we will meet near the elephant statue in front of Orsay museum -then enter the museum -on the ground flour I will talk a about the different movements that initiated the creation of Impressionism -then I will explain to you how the transformation of Paris, and the construction of the Opera, transformed the Parisian society -and going up to the ground floor to floor at the impressionists artists : Monet, Renoir and Degas -at the end we will see the post impressionists artists : Seura, Van Gogh and Gauguin
