Dive into the Paris of the Belle Époque, when the town is transitioning from its still medieval face into a wide open modern city. On our tour in the Orsay Museum we will check out the artists of the time which translated so well this change in the Parisian landscape. You'll be able to understand the transformation that occurred in the artistic world in the 19th century that changed the world forever. We will examine works by impressionist masters such as Monet, Degas, Renoir and the generation that followed them, with names such as Seurat and Van Gogh.
- We will meet by the elephant statue in front of the Orsay Museum and we will enter the museum. - Our first stop is at the main hall of the museum for a brief introduction to the building and the Belle Époque. - We will visit the main artists that preceded the impressionists and understand the role of the Royal Academy of Arts. - We will understand the transformation of the town of Paris by taking a peak into the Opéra Garnier building. - Moving to the fifth floor, we will check works by Berthe Morissot, Renoir, Degas, Cézanne and Monet. - We will finish of with the works of post-impressionists such as Seurat, Signac and Van Gogh. - Our tour finished by the staircases of the fifth floor where you can continue checking out other areas of the museum.
