Thirty years ago , when I worked weekends to save up money for my university education fees , one of my passengers mentioned that I was contagiously enthusiastic giving my tours. I realized I had discovered my life's passion. Since then, I learnt a lot and enhanced my way of giving tours, tailored to the unique needs and requirements of my guests. Now, I am flexible enough to offer interesting tours adapted to all kind of travelers - private groups, seniors, corporate, students, children, professionals, families, …. And I always TRY to be cheerful, positive, rigorous, patient and thoughtful. I have traveled a lot for pleasure or for work, and have even lived abroad , but Paris has been home for the last 35 years or so. Over the years I found out that memorable travel experiences may come from visiting far-away destinations but exploring one's own neighborhood can be the best. Today, showing people my city is sheer pleasure: I welcome every visitor in the international language of respect and courtesy. My goal is to make your visit both educational and entertaining. MOMENTS ARE PRICELESS. Come and experience for yourself! What I like to do when I'm not guiding: when at home I love to cook ! Dancing is a also passion. My favorite quotes: • Paris is always a good idea " Audrey Hepburn •"People don't take trips, trips take people. " - John Steinbeck •"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. " - Helen Keller •"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. "― Mark Twain I'm looking forward to seeing you in Paris ! It is a tour of a unique building housing the world's most important collection of Impressionism: the Musee d'Orsay on the Seine River , opposite the Louvre on the left bank, built in 1900 for a world fair, was a train station until 1939 ! It is today one of the world's most-visited museums and this is for a reason: it gives visitors a breathtaking look at the birth of modern painting in the 19th century, spanning from neoclassicism to expressionism. Highlights from this world-class collection include masterpieces such as Luncheon on the Grass, quite a risqué subject, and Auguste Renoir's Bal du Moulin de la Galette. Also enjoy works by artists such as Ingres, Courbet, Delacroix, Monet, Degas, Manet, or Van Gogh. It is an easy and entertertaining tour but along the way you will learn so much about 19th century art. You will love walking in an old train station turned into a museum, you will love exploring incredible and world famous artwork. You cant miss this experience when you are in Paris!
After telling you the story of the train station on the ground floor and how it became a museum, I will set the tone of years just before Impressionism, showing you paintings by Ingres, Millet , Manet, Corot , Courbet and Delacroix, before reaching the top floor of the museum , with a breathtaking view of Paris , to stroll through the Impressionists Gallery : , Renoir , Caillebotte, Pissaro , Sisley and Degas works are some of the most precious and the most famous in the World. We will finish this highly artistic tour with Post Impressionism , stopping for some Van Gogh's and Gauguin's masterpieces. And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you.
