Thirty years ago , when I worked weekends to save up money for my university education fees , one of my passengers mentioned that I was contagiously enthusiastic giving my tours. I realized I had discovered my life's passion. Since then, I learnt a lot and enhanced my way of giving tours, tailored to the unique needs and requirements of my guests. Now, I am flexible enough to offer interesting tours adapted to all kind of travelers - private groups, seniors, corporate, students, children, professionals, families, …. And I always TRY to be cheerful, positive, rigorous, patient and thoughtful. I have traveled a lot for pleasure or for work, and have even lived abroad , but Paris has been home for the last 35 years or so. Over the years I found out that memorable travel experiences may come from visiting far-away destinations but exploring one's own neighborhood can be the best. Today, showing people my city is sheer pleasure: I welcome every visitor in the international language of respect and courtesy. My goal is to make your visit both educational and entertaining. MOMENTS ARE PRICELESS. Come and experience for yourself! What I like to do when I'm not guiding: when at home I love to cook ! Dancing is a also passion. My favorite quotes: • Paris is always a good idea " Audrey Hepburn •"People don't take trips, trips take people. " - John Steinbeck •"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. " - Helen Keller •"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. "― Mark Twain I'm looking forward to seeing you in Paris ! The Parisians call this popular district the "Quartier Latin", you will love it too! For the unforgettable view of the river, the maze of narrow medieval streets, the unique outdoor book stalls lining the riverbank, the dramatic look of Saint Michael slaying the devil at the fountain…The neighborhood is today a popular hangout for students, yet a prominent tourist attraction with deep historical roots. It is an easy leisurely walk, quite suitable for a first encounter with Paris.
We will start in the shadow of Notre Dame cathedral to recall the origins of Paris and about how the Gothic style was born there. We will then leave the Seine river banks to cross into the charming Viviani square housing the oldest tree in the city, You will enjoy walking through narrow cobbled streets typical of the medieval era, stopping for a moment at the one and only Sylvia Beach's Shakespeare and Co, the famous bookstore and boarding house for up-and-coming writers that Hemingway wrote about in A Moveable Feast. Next, we may go inside Saint Severin and Saint Julian churches if open since the special atmosphere inside is worth a quick peak. After some pictures at the unique fountain of Saint Michel , we will continue to the Roman baths that are the stunning vestiges of the times when Paris was called Lutetia. The tour will end just outside the Museum of the Middle Ages. And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote.
