Overview of your Paris tour:

"The Hotel des Invalides" was built for King Louis XIV to welcome the veterans of his countless wars. Today, it is a museum hosting a fantastic collection of art and military art in various collections from the High Middle Ages to the Second World War. The novels of Alexandre Dumas as well as the numerous film and television adaptations have made the "king's musketeers" iconic characters of pop culture! The whole world knows the world of d'Artagnan and his friends! But did you know they really existed? Who were these swashbuckling characters really? I invite you to follow me through part of the collection of the Musée des Invalides, in the footsteps of the King's musketeers! You will discover their true history, their weapons and the art of war in the 17th century, from the time of Louis XIII to that of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The Invalides monument itself dates from this period. The museum is open from 10hrs to 17hrs the best is to start the visit at 10am or from 13hrs / 14hrs

Your Paris tour itinerary

We meet in front of the large portal, in the Rond Point du Bleuet. If it is raining, I will wait for you under the main gate! After getting to know each other, we enter the Invalides and discover this imposing monument. First of all we will of course go to see the fantastic dome of the Invalides, which of course contains Napoleon's tomb today! But which will interest us especially to evoke the time of the Sun King. We will visit the Royal Room, which offers us the exceptional spectacle of arms and armor that belonged to the kings of France in the 16th and 17th centuries. Then we will go through the "medieval rooms" in search of muskets and rapiers. . . We will cross the course to discover other weapons and paintings, before discovering one of the most unknown but most fantastic places: the museum of relief maps!
