Bonjour! I grew up on the coast of Britanny - Western France, near the famous Normandy. I used to live in Paris for many years and moved not long ago to Versailles, the capital city of the french monarchy where the famous Sun King's Palace is. I guess it was meant to be because I've been fascinated by the royal history of France since I was a child… Later on, I discovered a special interest for foreign languages and lived in several countries to work on that (US, Spain, Mexico, Italy and Brazil). And if you add the fact that I love driving, then it's been the perfect recipe for me to become a driver-guide and take you all around France to share my love of this country. I have worked as a guide for a decade and specialized in private tours because I want to be able to share with you more than historical information. You actually really get to meet the people you greet only in private tours. It is definitely the best option to discover at your own pace and I'll be happy to offer flexibility, as this is what I look for when I travel myself. The region of Paris is usually the part that people first discover, there is so much to see! However it is also really worth to do trips outside Paris, to the WW2 landing beaches of Normandy, the Champagne vineyards, the Castles of the Loire Valley, and more. I can take you to all those places and you will experience the variety of the wonders of France, whether it comes to landscapes, architecture, food or wines. I look forward to hearing from you, knowing your expectations and getting started for a beautiful trip! The Loire Valley is the largest french site to be on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. That is deserved as it is on the banks of the Loire river that the french Renaissance flourished. Several italian artists and engineers such as Leonardo Da Vinci settled in this region that we still name "Garden of France", and thanks to the ambition of our Kings, they planted the seed of an astonishing artistic revolution that you are invited to admire in our beautiful castles.
I'll pick you up at 7:00am from your hotel in Paris. After driving 1h30, we'll make a coffee stop. We'll drive another hour to the 1rst site, the Château de Chenonceau, also known as "The Ladies' Castle", an architectural gem built across a river. For lunch, we will head to the royal town of Amboise where Leonardo Da Vinci spent the last 3 years of his life. And last but not least, we will discover the Château of Chambord, the perfect example of the Renaissance architecture in the Loire Valley and fruit of King Francis 1rst's ambition. * The Loire Valley is also an important wine region. It is possible arrange a wine tasting
