Lafayette and the American Founding Fathers in Paris

Incredibly knowledge .. walking at a good pace..learned so much!! Excellent guide!

What a wonderful tour in the footsteps of the American Founding fathers through Paris. Thierry is a fantastic guide and storyteller. He brought the story to life, walked us in the US founding father's footsteps - showed us where they lived, ate, signed the Treaty of Paris, and what inspired them to build when they returned to the US. Weaving American revolutionary history into the French landscape at the time, Thierry helped set the context for what helped shape the birth of the United States. I highly recommend this tour for US history buffs and anyone that wants this unique perspective.

Thierry is an excellent tour guide who brings to life the history of France and it's relationship with the United States. His English was easy to understand and his stories were interesting and fun. We especially appreciated his use of a microphone. Although this was a private tour and there were only 2 of us (I must admit, I thought it was odd when I first saw the microphone), but the sounds of the traffic and throngs of people on some streets would have made it very difficult to hear him if he had not been using the microphone. More tour guides should do that! Thierry's love of history combined with his excellent communication skills made this a very enjoyable tour. Merci Beaucoup, Thierry. We're happy we found you! My wife and I are interested in history, and when we were reviewing the various tours in Paris, this one jumped out at us. Thierry did a great job, and we would definitely use him for another tour if we go back to Paris. We walked around the Left Bank, visiting sites that revolved around Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, as well as Lafayette. It was a great way to see history come alive. My wife and I made a separate trip the day before to Picpus Cemetery and visit Lafayette's grave. The day after the tour, we came upon a plaque on a house on Champs Elysee, highlighting that Jefferson had lived there for four years. America might not have won the Revolution without France's help, personified by Lafayette.

We had a wonderful time with Thierry. It was a rainy day but he was very flexible and kept our two 10-year old boys very engaged the whole time. They loved hearing about the American founding fathers in Paris, and we all learned many new things about the French Revolution—the "good" and "bad" parts both. Thierry loves history and made for very memorable introduction to Paris. Highly recommended!!
