Hi, I'm Thierry! My love for History was sparked by my Corsican Grandfather, a war Veteran and Knight of the Legion of Honor. As early as elementary school, History was my favorite subject. My purpose is to share my passion in a way that is entertaining and easy to understand. I have spent over 10 years in the U. S. and the U. K. and having been immersed in other cultures and national narratives gives me the hindsight to approach historical events with different perspectives. My favorite period is the late 1700s: the French Revolution, Napoleon, and the American Revolution. Times when a few brave men, moved by their conviction in a greater cause, changed the course of history. I have been offering tours for five years on a full time basis although I had started this activity long before on week-ends. My knowledge is drawn from years of reading hundreds of books from different sources and points of view and attending history talks and art lectures from experts such as Jean Tulard, Thierry Lentz, David Chanteranne, Pierre Branda, etc. and attended courses from "Les Paris de l'Art" (Art history from Paris Museums Organisation). Please note I am not a licensed guide yet and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments. Also, I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams collectively spent over fifteen years in Paris! These great men made history in the United States but also impacted that of France. Why did the then British colonies send such high profile representatives and ambassadors to Paris? We will cover all the connections between France and the United States during the American Revolution and also the during French Revolution. Let's follow the footsteps of the Founding Fathers, along with other figures who took part of both Revolutions such as the Marquis de LaFayette, Rochambeau and more… You'll see where they lived, died, had coffee and were even imprisoned! We'll also explore decisive events such as the Treaty of Alliance with France and the Treaty of Independence! Join me on a journey back in time to the American Revolution in Paris!
This tour takes place in the lovely areas of Saint-Germain des Près and Saint-Sulpice which is full of stunning private townhouses from the 1700s and more recent Haussmann architecture. We will see: - The oldest coffee shop in Paris where B. Franklin and T. Jefferson spent time and discussed revolutionary ideas ; - The beautiful Saint-Sulpice church and its stunning fountain ; - A theather inaugurated by Queen Marie-Antoinette ; - Superb private townhouses where important figures such as Rochambeau lived or died ; - The statue of one prominent Founding Fathers. . . Surprise! We will end the tour near the Orsay Museum, which is a few minutes walk from a métro station.
