My name is Vincent an official tour guide/lecturer in Paris and France. I am a licensed tour guide in France and I have been working since 1989. It was the year when Paris celebrated the centenary of the Eiffel Tower as well as the bicentennial of the French Revolution. My knowledge in art history and History grew over the years and I like to share it with visitors. Less crowded, impressive collection, a good option versus Versailles. The tour starts at your hotel at 8:15 AM, where we will start driving to Fontainebleau, around 50 km away from Paris. The highlight here is the stunning Gallery of Francis I. Visit to the palace would start around 9:30 AM ending around noon. From Fontainebleau, we can head to Barbizon to show you this village with a high artistic value (pre-impressionist painter). Once the tour concludes, we'll head back to Paris and arrived at the hotel at around 2 to 3 PM.
Vincent was very nice and knowledgeable. He made the architecture and history of Fountainebleau, as well as the history of France, many French royal families and Napoleonic times come alive. The palace and gardens were beautiful. Although smaller than Versailles, it was still very large and we were able to see much more of the interior and of the furnishings at Fountainebleau.
Vincent was such a great guide for us. The history and beauty of Fontainebleau Palace is breathtaking. It is huge and he got us through it and the gardens so we saw all the important parts and heard the history. Glad we found Vincent for a private experience and drive from Paris to Fontainebleau.

Great tour with substitute guide, Honore, to both Fontainebleau and Barbizon! He was timely, very personable and extremely knowledgeable of both towns and all to see. We got a great history review of France and more on the drive out of Paris.
